Novell Access Manager provides web single sign-on &
federation capabilities
Portal capabilities could be provided by Novell exteNd
Director (included in IDM3), Novell Virtual Office (included
with OES & OWS), or some other vendor's portal, such as
JBoss Portal or IBM Websphere Portal (Alpha NetSolutions
also designs, implements, and deploys portals. Click

Identity Manager provides the following capabilities:
- manage user's accounts and passwords to the
applications delivered through the portal
- synchronize user accounts with the directory used
for authentication to the portal
- synchronize user's personalization preferences
within the portal
Access Manager provides the following capabilities:
- access control and real-time authorization to data
and applications delivered in the portal
- single sign-on to the various applications delivered
in the portal
