Once we have performed a Business Continuity Assessment,
and systems have been adjusted to support the requirements
uncovered by this Assessment, we are able to move forward
with the Disaster Recovery Plan itself. During the
Disaster Recovery Plan, we will document the procedures
required to recover from a disaster scenario. The
Disaster Recover Plan also includes every piece of
information required to rebuild your systems from scratch,
including hardware inventory and key configuration
information (server names, volume information, etc.).
We also create Disaster Recovery Packets for each system, if
necessary (this may not necessary if your backup includes
system imaging).
This will give the client everything needed to recover
from a major disaster, as well as more minor failures.
Note that a Disaster Recovery Plan is a living, breathing
document, that will need to be maintained on an ongoing
basis to be of value.
