Business Continuity Assessment

The overall goal of a Business Continuity Assessment is to minimize the interruption of critical business services provided by the company's network systems, due to the costly nature of these interruptions.  Alpha NetSolutions performs this service in a multi-phased approach to cover all aspects of the network, in a controlled, logical progression.

Network Assessment - The first phase will be a Network Assessment, which includes the documentation of the entire network, and recommendations on changes required for general network stability & reliability.

Security Assessment - The second phase will be a review of the current state of security. While the primary concern of most companies is securing the network from external attack, it is essential that internal security be reviewed and tightened as well (since 80% of all attacks involve the compromise of someone within the organization). This phase includes remediation of highly critical issues that can be addressed in a simple and straightforward way. Deliverables will include a detailed Security Assessment Report, including recommendations.

Business Continuity Assessment – During this phase, we will determine the criticality of all components of the network, and interdependencies to uncover critical paths of continuity. Resources will be assigned to one of a number categories of criticality, and we will recommend changes to your environment to provide the determined availability of each resource on the network.  We review criticality from two perspectives: loss of access to the system, and loss of data.  We also consider 4 different disaster levels: simple hardware failure (minor component loss, such as a network card or power supply), system hardware failure (where the individual server is down and will need more extensive recovery, such as a hard drive failure), loss of your data center (without loss of other facilities), and site loss.

After the recommended changes have been implemented, we can move into the DIsaster Recovery Plan itself.
